On a recent weekend adventure I experienced a combination of my three favourite things…food, shopping and fun times with friends and family!
I used the excuse of a friend visiting for this little haul…well I had to show her all these lovely places and whilst in them I just couldn’t help myself! I am happy to say that all of my purchased items are in regular use 🙂 …apart from the lash glue…see below. 😦
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick in the shade Lost Cherry. This is the second of the Matte Revolution lipsticks I have tried and I have to confess that I am totally in love with them. Lost Cherry is a beautiful soft cherry red that wears well, is a perfect daytime red and just looks gorgeous. I am so impressed with these lipsticks. 🙂
Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon eye shadow pencil – in the shades Amethyst Aphrodisiac and Golden Quartz. I thought I would give these creme eye shadow sticks a go and I am so happy I did. I bought 2 for me and 1 for my mum (Champagne Diamonds) and 1 for my sister (Bronzed Garnet) and we all love them! Can Charlotte Tilbury do no wrong? I genuinely don’t think she can!
Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in the shade Nude Mauve Pink – I am addicted to blusher, almost as much as I am addicted to lipstick. I wanted a neutral colour that would compliment my pale skin tone and I found it in this little pot of magic! It lasts well and the colour is a neutrally mauve/pink…just like the name suggests! I really like it. 🙂
Max Factor Excess Shimmer eye shadow in the shade Copper – I am getting back into cream eye shadows again so though I would give this a go. It’s great to wear for work or for days when time to apply your face is limited. With an eye lid primer underneath it lasts all day with no creasing…happy times! Although it is named ‘copper’ I would say it is more of a taupe shade.
Milani Illuminating Face Powder in the shade Beauty’s Touch – This actually dropped through my letterbox from a late night Amazon shop after a couple of glasses of wine! 😉 I am so glad I took the plunge as I love it! It’s so beautiful to look at and is great as an all-over radiance powder…perfect for paler skins.
Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer – I bought a back up of this under eye primer which I recently rediscovered and I’m loving once again. They also gave me a sample lip gloss which I haven’t tried yet.
Real Techniques Bold Metals Oval Shadow Brush – After really enjoying some of their other Bold Metals brushes I though I would get this one. It is perfect for applying cream eye shadow and for smudging out cream eye pencils. Highly recommended!
The Vintage Cosmetic Company False eyelashes in ‘Betty’ – I used to wear falsies all the time and kind of got out of the habit. I spotted these in Boots and though I’d give them a go. I am pleased to report that I LOVE them and will definitely be purchasing more.
Duo Striplash Adhesive (Black) – I have read so much about this. Unfortunately since moving house I am unable to find it…which makes me sad. 😦
Lego Superheros Batgirl Keychain – No visit to the Lego shop is complete without getting a keyring. Bat Girl was my keyring of choice and it now has pride of place with my car keys. 🙂
A day out in the countryside is just what the doctor ordered! I visited the National Trust Cistercian Fountains Abbey plus Georgian water garden and medieval deer park with 3 friends.
For centuries people have been drawn to this inspiring place. From humble beginnings the magnificent abbey was established by devout monks seeking a simpler existence. The atmospheric ruins that remain are a window into a way of life which shaped the medieval world. When the socially ambitious John Aislabie inherited Studley Royal, he set about creating an elegant water garden of mirror-like ponds, statues and follies, incorporating the romantic ruins into his design. Green lawns stretch down to the riverside, a perfect spot for a picnic. Riverside paths lead to the deer park, home to Red, Fallow and Sika deer and ancient trees; limes, oaks, and sweet chestnuts. One-of-a-kind, this special place is now recognised as a World Heritage Site.
We had a lovely picnic and day out followed by a delicious meal at my parents’ house cooked beautifully by my mum and sister. 🙂 Happy times indeed!
