This year’s beauty advent calendar was a tough choice with lots of different brands with great selections on offer. In the end I opted for an M&S one as it was the best value for money and I had seen a few of the products contained within that immediately caught my attention…see my Sneak Peek post here! 🙂 I have been posting my daily calendar opening on my Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages…so for you lovely blog readers here is a round-up of the first six days…
The Philip Kingsley Elasticizer is always a welcome addition to my collection. I really enjoy the feeling of my hair after I have used it…soft, supple and just feeling great! I try to use it once-a-month for a hair pick-me-up. This one, with it’s limited edition geranium and neroli fragrance, will be making an appearance in my Christmas eve pamper routine for sure!
Burt’s Bees is one of my favourite brands for lip balms, so it figures that this cuticle butter was always going to be great. The area around my nails is super dry so I have been using this on a night to give an intense dose of moisturiser to my hands. I have also been reliably informed that this product can be used to de-frizz hair! A multi-purpose product with a great lemony smell.
Cowshed make great products and I have liked everything I have tried from the brand so far. This Grumpy Cow Uplifting body lotion smells like a dream and is just what my dry arms and legs have been calling out for!
I never say no to mascara, and this Pur Minerals one is no exception. I love the wand as I have really been getting back into bristle wands lately over the plastic ones. I haven’t tried it yet but it’s next up to replace my current mascara when it runs out.
I have never heard of or used Leighton Denny products before but I think this nail repair cream is just what the doctor ordered. I wash my hands and apply alcohol gel to them many many times a day and my nails are soft and peeling. I am interested to see what results this gives, if any.
This is the one that has underwhelmed me the most. Nuit Parfum smells like a cross between grapefruit, men’s cologne and a florally talc. I sprayed it on myself and it just wouldn’t wash off…which is great if you like the scent! The fragrance is not for me…I want to pass it on but have no idea who to!
Five out of six (so far) ain’t bad, right? I’ll be back in six-days-time with my next round-up.
