Getting my GlamGlow on! A review of the GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment

I am totally guilty of buying a tonne of face masks and never using them. It was only when I collated my collection that I realised I had a problem I needed to do something about!I bought the GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment a while ago and forgot I had it…quel surprise! It’s the second GlamGlow product I have ever owned. The first being the GlamGlow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate mask which I was not a massive fan of as it was too harsh for my skin. However if you fancy a mask/scrub combi and you love a very rough-textured scrub on your face then look no further than this!

The Claims: This detoxifying mud mask is designed to fight common skin concerns including blemishes, visible pores, break outs, razor burn, and in-grown hairs. It claims to brighten, even skin tone, reduce redness, speed up healing, de-clog pores, minimise pores and leave smooth more youthful skin. You can see why I snapped this little beauty up! The rrp is £44.99 (*yikes*) but search around for offers as you can get it cheaper.

The Application: The product itself smells faintly of aniseed (which I love) and is really cool to the touch, like you would expect mud to be. It applies easily, the only downside being that you have to dip your fingers into the pot which I never like for hygiene reasons…however make sure you wash your hands beforehand or use a spatula (read ‘tea spoon’…well it was all I had to hand!) and you are good to go. The application is super smooth and it spreads around your face easily making it not too difficult to deposit it exactly where you want it.

The Removal: I planned to leave it on for 10 minutes, but I got distracted and before I realised 25 minutes had passed! That being said my face didn’t feel hideously dry and tight with the mask on and it was still super easy to wash off. I used a face cloth and tepid water followed by a foaming face wash to remove any residue.

The Results: After taking it off my skin felt smooth and the breakouts I had been picking at (yes, I am that person!) were no longer red. I like to think it made me look more youthful too…but that may just be wishful thinking! I have also used this mask since on small areas of break-out on my skin and I will probably continue to use it like this as these are the areas I want to target and this mask is quite expensive.

To buy or not to buy? I would buy this again if it was on offer or if I had a gift card/money-off voucher. The main thing that stops me from buying it is the price. If you are in the market for a great face mask and don’t mind spending the money, or if you just want to try a GlamGlow product and you have skin concerns, then I definitely recommend you try it. This mask is currently available on the Feel Unique website for £40…and I think I may have a voucher somewhere… 😉

  1. I loved Glam Glow! However, a bit of advice…I used it several times at first and then kind of forgot about it for several months and I noticed that it had completely dried out, making the last third of the product unusable. I don’t believe that I left the cap loose, but that may have been the problem. In any case, make sure that you don’t forget about it, it’s too pricy to not use it all!

  2. Fab review chum & what glam mud shots hehe Sounds like a great mask (though it would have to be for the price) Certainly something I’d try if my skin went a bit haywire though for the meantime I find the lush Seaweed mask amazing in combating my redness! Glad you enjoyed this though XXX

  3. The white one is my favorite. Liked the original one, the line green one irritated my skin.
If you don’t want that tight feeling you should never let it dry completely. Spritz your face with a toner/floral water/mineral water.

    • Thanks for the tip…I might try that next time! 🙂 I was happy that this mask didn’t feel as tight and dry as others I have tried…I have a feeling this might be more of a problem with cheaper masks. Thanks for stopping by again and taking time out to comment. 🙂
