Mascara is a very personal thing. I love volume AND length and often struggle to find this combination at a wallet-friendly price. Until Now!
I received the Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume mascara in a beauty subscription box (I forget which one) and pretty much ignored it. It sat unloved in my ‘mascaras to use’ pile until my favourite Seventeen Falsifeye HD mascara (£6.99) ran out and I needed a replacement. Heading for my pile this one happened to be on the top and so I grabbed it not really expecting much.
At just £2.80 a pop for a 12ml tube (your eyes do not deceive you!) this mascara is pretty much the cheapest mascara I own and I have to say it’s one of the best! Now before you get completely overexcited I would like to say that I do prefer my Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes mascara over this one but at £22 for an 8ml tube this is not something that I rush out to repurchase.
The plasticky wand has short bristles/spikes so you don’t tend to stab yourself in the eye when applying mascara…which is always a bonus in my opinion! 😉 The colour is nice and black and eyelashes are easy to separate even when the mascara starts to dry out a bit. I find that I get more length than volume from this mascara although my lashes are more volunised than in their normal state. It is a perfect daytime appropriate mascara that I now wear everyday for work. It can be layered up for a night time look but my preference is for more volume and drama than this mascara can deliver.
At £2.80 a pop it’s definitely going to be repurchased and I am excited to discover what other delights Essence has got for me!
