My Top 5 September 2016 Favourites

September Favourites

September has been and gone and I can’t quite believe it! I thought I would bring back an old favourite post, monthly favourites…although this time I have narrowed it down to my top 5! Yikes! There has been a lot of competition but these are the products that have been exciting me that I have been reaching for on a regular basis. So here goes, in no particular order…

September Favourites

1 – The Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser (200ml, £34) initially came into my life as a sample product. I loved it then and just had to get the full-sized version! Now I’m not really into things that are rough on the skin, generally preferring to use acid liquid exfoliants. Despite having micro beads it does not feel rough on the skin at all. I use it about 2-3 times a week and use either glycolic acid or salicylic acid the rest of the time. This is a bit pricey but as you don’t need to use heaps it lasts for a long time.

2 – As a lover of bright bold lipsticks I am very surprised that the Urban Decay Vice Comfort Matte lipstick in Criminal (£15) has become my new love! It’s a lovely neutral pink with cool undertones that really flatters my pale skin. The formula is great! It’s pigmented, matte but not drying and long-lasting…what more can you want? I have several lipsticks in the range, it’s one of my favourite lipstick formulations currently on the market. 🙂

3 – I recently had my hair chopped off and was looking for something that would give me texture and allow me to style my hair in seconds (what can I say, I’m lazy!). The answer to this it seems is the L’Oreal Professional Wild Stylers 60s Babe Savage Panache dry touch texturising powder spray (250ml, £12.70)! My hair stylist put me on to this (thanks Becky!) and I have not looked back! This is a firm favourite and I can definitely see a repurchase on the horizon…although it seems to last for ages!

4 – In the autumn/winter months I get ready for work in dim light due to the lack of natural light available. Now I love blush and wear it every day but this starts to go horribly wrong as the natural light of summer fades. There are times (allegedly) that I have turned up at work looking like Coco the clown due to my heavy-handed blusher application! I searched high and low for a solution to my problem and found the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in 10 Nude Mauve (£8.99). You can literally apply 10 layers of this and the colour stays the same – result! It has a great neutral colour with a slight sheen and it looks great on my pale skin. Darker skins may want to opt for a different shade though, but there are several to choose from. It also lasts all day!

5 – As I age (*gasp*) I am constantly seeking products that plump my skin up and make my makeup sit on my face perfectly, all day. My under-eye area is a constant source of stress. Sometimes no matter how good my foundation and concealer are they still sit in my fine lines. We all know it’s all about the base and that has to be right! I got the Dior Hydra Life Pro-Youth Sorbet Eye Creme (15ml, £33) after winning a giveaway ages ago and thought ‘what the heck’ and gave it a go! It’s not sold as something that fixes under-eye lines however this is what it has done for me. My foundation and concealer sit on top perfectly and the only time I get problems is if I have put too much makeup on that area. Result! It’s quite pricey but I really think it’s worth it.

So there’s my top 5 September favourites, it was tough narrowing it down but I am happy with my picks. Let me know if there is anything you have been loving recently that you recommend I check out!

Traci-Ann 🙂
